Dame Vivienne Westwood originally worked as a Primary School teacher who indulged her fashion interests in her spare time, but things quickly changed when she met Malcolm McLaren. McLaren was then manager of the Sex Pistols, and he and Westwood set about creating an entire new fashion sense in order to accompany the band. Vivienne's designs, featuring bizarre combinations of bondage gear, saftey pins, razor blades, and dog collars, rode the cultural zeitgeist to infamy, and she has since remained a huge fixture of British fashion, winning the British Designer of the Year award three times and being made a Dame in the New Year Honours of 2006. Westwood launched her first fragrance, Boudoir, in 1998.
