Editor's Review: Mosquit-ex Insect Repellent. I don't know about you, but mosquitos seem to love me. Every time I go on holiday anywhere tropical (which isn't as often as I'd like!) I get bitten to pieces by horrid mosquitos, seemingly intent on ruining my otherwise perfectly bronzed pins. I usually get bitten in my hotel room at night, having gone to bed satisfied that my lack of perfume and my carefully pulled up socks will have warded off any would-be blood suckers. Alas, I invariably wake up in the morning covered in bites. I've even tried using those strange crumbly spiral devices that you set fire to, but even they seem to be only mildly effective. So now I've turned to Mosquit-ex by Riemann, an 11-hour overnight formula that repels moquitos and other flying insects. I've hadn't tried any mosquito repellent in a lotion before, so I didn't know quite what to expect. However, I was very pleasantly surprised at how effective it was. The lotion is smooth and easy to apply, and importantly it's odourless. You're supposed to put it on all the exposed areas of your skin (excluding your eyes, nose and mouth) but I only used it on my arms and legs (including my feet), as this is where 99% of my mosquito bites end up. After 7 nights in Barbados, I was delighted to find that I only had two bites from the entire trip. In previous years (staying at the same hotel) I've had ten or even fifteen bites from a single week's holiday, so that's a massive improvement. There are other mosquito repellents on the market (including Jungle Formula, which I'm going to try on my next trip) which may also be very good, but Mosquit-Ex certainly does a great job in keeping the mosquitos at bay.
Manufacturer's Description: Riemann Mosquit-ex 100ml Insect Repellent Overnight Formula is an effective repellent against mosquitos and other biting insects, giving high protection with only one application for up to 11 hours. Mosquit-ex also provides high protection due to it's unique sustained release formulation. It is odourless just 2 - 3 minutes after applications.
I recently went jungle trekking in Peru, an area prone to mosquitoes. had lots of trouble with irritating bites in the past causing restless nights, but used Mosquit-ex this time and got nothing! perfect and great price

I hate mosquitos, but I love Mosquitex! I think I have the kind of skin that mozzies are attracted to, as I always get bitten to pieces whenever I'm on holiday. I'm really pleased with how well the Mosquitex works on me, it really makes a difference. I still get a few bites, but probably only about a tenth the number of bites I used to get. I have also had some really strange insect bites that are much bigger than mosquito bites, but without such acute redness. Thankfully, I've not had any of these since I started taking Mosquitex on holiday with me so I guess this works well on other insects and not just mosquitos. 100ml is a handy travel size, not too big and not too small.
