The Gres fashion house was formed in Paris in 1942 by Germaine Krebs, who produced haute couture for a parade of famous and regal women, including Jacqueline Kennedy and Marlene Dietrich. The business launched a perfume arm in 1959 with its first scent, Cabochard, and has released numerous other divine fragrances to date. Although the Gres fashion house is now defunct, Parfums Gres still goes from strength to strength, and recent years have seen the addition of the Caline and Cabaret fragrances to its range.
