Juicy Couture started in 1996 with just a pair of scissors, a bag of T-shirts and two hundred dollars between co-designers Pamela Skaist Levy and Gela Taylor. The original idea was to make sexy basics for their friends, but they soon realised how contagious their designs were. Juicy Couture became a big name in the fashion world, being proclaimed as "the future of fashion" by Vogue, and taken over by Liz Claiborne. Juicy Couture is a contemporary line of both casual and dressy apparel, known for their terrycloth and velour tracksuits as well as other clothing, accessories and fragrances.
