Giorgio Armani is an Italian fashion designer, who was originally known for his menswear, and then his womenswear line that followed in 1975. He formed his company, Armani, in 1975, and by 2001 was acclaimed as the most successful designer to come out of Italy, with an annual turnover of $1.6 billion, and a personal fortune of $5 billion. As well as clothing, Armani has branched into a range of other industries, and has a fragrance line for men and for women, which has spawned such popular scents as Diamonds, Code, and Idole d'Armani.
