  • Exfoliate regularly to get rid of dry and dead skin cells which will dull your skin and make it harder for it to retain moisture.
  • Is your moisturiser still doing its job? You might find you need a richer formulation during the winter months to protect your skin from the onslaught of winter winds and the dryness of central heating. A top tip if you suffer from dry skin is to really massage your moisturiser in well - this will also give you a healthy glow!
  • Water, water, water!! Keep drinking to help keep your skin supple from within, and prevent dehydration which can leave your skin feeling tight and itchy - if you don't fancy water in the cold weather, why not try a herbal tea?
  • Use lots of hand cream to protect and repair your hands & wear gloves outside. If you forget to use hand cream put a tube somewhere which will remind you - by your bed, the kitchen sink or maybe your desk at work.
  • Keep a lip balm on you at all times - you never know when your lips might be in need of some TLC.
  • Using a SPF is still vital to prevent aging even if it's cloudy outside - the sun's rays still get through!
  • Hot baths can dry out your skin - keep the temperature down and add some drops of bath oil to help keep moisture in.
  • Go easy on the blow-drying and hairstyling - the drying effects of indoor heating and the outdoor elements can dry out your hair and make it frizz up - use a leave in conditioner and allow your hair to dry naturally.
  • Keep up your intake of vitamin E and essential fats found in foods like avocado and almonds to help you glow naturally and improve the texture of your skin.
